Publishing your web!

One thing to keep in mind when publishing your web is that your web service provider needs to have the FrontPage extensions installed. Extensions are version specific. So make sure that your server is using the correct extensions for your version of FrontPage. Many people don't realize this and find that FrontPage components such as the Theme, won't work after publishing. You also need to keep in mind that the best way to publish a web is to use the File/Publish Web command from the toolbar. Publishing using FTP will insure that not all of the built in FP components will be uploaded!

How to make a new web using this web template

Go to File/New/Web (2000) or File/New/Page or Web (2002).

In 2002, you will need to click "Web Template" in the right side taskbar.

Choose the "Personal Service" web template, and specify the location you want to publish to.

Click "OK" and wait for FrontPage to create your new web.

Adding New Pages to Your Web

You may add new pages very easily.

1. Copy an existing page.

This is useful if you have inserted a logo and made other layout changes that you want to apply to all the new pages that you are creating. Open a page that has the layout the way you want it, then go to File/Save As. Save the page under a new name - be sure to change the page title as well! Then, go to Navigation View and drag your new page into the navigation structure.

We have provided two "New Pages" for you to use. One with a two column layout and one with three.

Deleting Pages from Your Web

Right-click on the pages you wish to delete in your Folder List, in Folder View, or in Navigation View, then select "Delete."

Renaming Pages

If you would like to use an existing page but want to rename it, you may easily do this in Folders View. Right-click on the file name and/or the page title and choose "Rename" to rename your file.
